Event Manager

The Events Manager is charged with the strategic design, oversight, and management of all organizational events including signature fundraising events, 3rd party fundraising, and community engagement events. The Manager works in collaboration with volunteers and community members to design dynamic events, execute an annual event calendar, and develop new events aimed at raising revenue, deepening relationships with existing donors, and attracting new prospects to Friendship Home.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic and logistical responsibility for all fundraising/organizational and community engagement events, including current signature events - Annual Gala, Golf Tournament, and River Rock Music Festival.
- Create, launch and manage external event program and other third party fundraising efforts.
- Responsible for comprehensive event solicitation plan and secure sponsorships from individuals and corporate partners to grow revenue.
- Responsible for recruitment, management and stewardship of event committees.
- Oversee recognition and stewardship of event sponsors.
- Recruit and manage event volunteers.
- Evaluate event ROI and develop strategies to increase donations, exceed revenue goals, and reduce expenses.
- Research, negotiate, and manage event vendor contracts and relationships.
- Responsible for oversight of marketing, public relations, advertising, and ticket promotion for events in coordination with the Marketing/Communications Coordinator.
- Manage event software platforms used to facilitate on-line auctions, donations, and registrations.
- In collaboration with the Marketing/Communications Coordinator, is responsible for the events messaging including the print, digital and video materials.
- Develop and manage event budgets.
- Obtain permits for events and ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, safety obligations and agency processes and policies.
- Other duties as assigned and as needed to help reach development goals
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 3-years of experience in event management, fundraising and development, preferably with a nonprofit organization
- Experience with staging large-scale non-profit and/or corporate events
- Strong creative thinking, problem-solving and communication (written and oral) skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet critical deadlines
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience working with volunteer committees
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, donor databases, Constant Contact, Social Media platforms - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter preferred
- Professional experience interacting with prospective donors, corporate sponsors, vendors, volunteers and board members
- Flexibility to attend evening and/or weekend meetings and/or events
- Passion and enthusiasm for Friendship Home's mission
