Position Description:

LCG Digital Experience and Transformation Center (DETC), a dedicated corporate function, focuses on the design, implementation, and support of IT and transformation strategies. We are on the lookout for a highly motivated and self-driven Solution Architect to enhance our Federal Client's technology transformations. The Solution Architect is client-facing, proactive and holistically leading activities that guide the development and management of a portfolio of IT transformation solutions tailored for customers within the Federal Government.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand business drivers and capabilities (both current and future states) to determine corresponding solution designs and change requirements that drive targeted business outcomes.
  • Establish a purposeful cadence with delivery teams and customers to discuss evolving strategic IT requirements.
  • Lead or actively participate in discovery sessions to develop implementation plans that align with customer business goals and technical environments. Ensure consensus on solution design and establish clear next steps toward adoption, effectively addressing evolving needs.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve transformation objectives, documenting all solution architecture design and analysis work.
  • Develop roadmaps for the evolution of the contract portfolio from its current state to the desired future state, as defined by customers. These artifacts should include draft strategic plans and adoption plans to ensure successful implementation, and other critical elements to achieve the outlined objectives.
  • Work closely with the Contract Project Managers and Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure that execution plans align with project or product lifecycle commitments.
  • Support LCG’s community of practice (CoP), guiding and helping teams align with overall architecture governance and assurance.
  • Understand emerging technology trends and disruptions and their practical applications to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
  • Develop deep relationships with key decision-makers within customer agencies, empowering them to champion technology transformations.
  • Contribute to LCG Business Development efforts, including activities supporting the proposal development process.


Requirements:

  • Proficient knowledge of cloud service providers, including AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as ServiceNow, SharePoint, and the M365 Ecosystem (including Copilot) is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of Generative AI and Foundational Models, including their potential for integration within various environments and uses.
  • Knowledge of financial models and budgeting, including total cost of ownership (TCO) and Financial Operations (FinOps) principles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT service management (ITSM) and the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate complex technical solutions clearly and persuasively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Must be capable of crafting and delivering presentations that engage and influence senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Strong creative skills in designing and developing visual artifacts, including persuasive PowerPoint presentations and CONOPS Graphics, that simplify complex concepts and are tailored to the audience’s understanding, ensuring clarity and comprehensibility.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, System Analysis, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in at least three IT solution development disciplines, such as supporting Cloud and Technology Transformations.
  • Prior experience supporting Federal IT organizations, specifically within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (O-CIO) at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is highly desirable.
  • Relevant Cloud Certifications with Solutions Architect designations
  • ITIL 4 Foundation or higher certifications

  • Capable of proposing solutions and estimating their financial impact, evaluating solution architecture alternatives from a cost-benefit perspective.
  • Strong interpersonal skills complemented by a creative and analytical approach to solving business problems and advocating for effective solutions.
  • Quick to understand the functions and capabilities of emerging technologies, integrating new tools effectively into solution architectures.
  • Recognized for an early adopter attitude, driven by curiosity to continually learn and master new skills.


Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $160,000 to $214,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
