Position Overview:
The Principal Engineer within the Division of Information Technology (DIT) is a key contributor responsible for the technical planning and architecture development of distributed cloud computing environments.

Role Responsibilities:
This position entails:
1. **Technical Leadership**: Establishing the direction for architecture, standards, design, automation, and implementation within both cloud and on-premises environments.
2. **Solution Development**: Creating, evaluating, and implementing plans for high-impact cloud-integrated enterprise solutions.
3. **Monitoring Cloud Expenditure**: Analyzing overall cloud spending and developing shared reporting methods to minimize costs.
4. **Stakeholder Engagement**: Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure that IT services are modern, secure, and stable.

Qualifications:
**Education**: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

**Experience**: A minimum of ten (10) years in supporting the operations and administration of IT infrastructure.

**Skills and Abilities**:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
- Proven ability to prioritize and execute advanced support requests independently.
- Expertise in managing IT projects with a focus on delivering technical initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead presentations and training sessions.
- Familiarity with modern data integration techniques and cloud services, particularly Azure.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in architecting cloud-native solutions and understanding cloud security best practices.
- Five or more years in a similar role with a focus on Microsoft Azure technologies.
