Opportunity Description


Seeking a Vice President – Quality to oversee the Quality Control Lab, Sample Lab and R & D Groups with a customer focused vision assisting in keeping our reputation for Quality as a Service. Reporting into the SVP of Quality and Compliance this individual will bring a high level of competencies including Best Practices for Lab Staff, Employee Management, Program Management and Special Project assignments.

Job Duties


  • Coordinate the running of the lab, ensuring that it runs efficiently and smoothly at all times and a liaison to the SVP Compliance.
  • Manages team responsible for QC release testing, inclusive of testing, review, and data results entry to ensure data integrity.
  • Directs the work for the QC team, providing prioritization according to the company needs.
  • Building Metrics and Performance Goals for Team and individuals.
  • Assisting managers in program, project management and setting deadlines
  • Ensure that the lab personnel are appropriately trained to the necessary laboratory and company procedures.
  • Coach, mentor and develop the QC team, provide planning and opportunities for individual development and advancement.
  • Lead the QC staff to meet the lab and organization’s expectations for productivity, quality and goal accomplishments.
  • Provide effective performance feedback through verbal and written acknowledgments.
  • Prepare and administer performance reports in conjunction with the Director of QC to the QC technician’s and Chemists.
  • Work on special projects including junior members to foster inclusivity and growth within the department Demonstrates strong leadership skills.
  • Investigation and review of NCR’s while determining root cause and corrective actions.
  • Track monthly productivity reports for the lab as well as individual chemists.
  • Works well with other cross functional departments such as Customer Care and Production but not limited to these areas.
  • Ensures that all lab safety procedures are adhered to in the QC lab.


Education


Bachelors of Science Degree: Chemistry, Engineering or other related area of science.


Experience & Skills Required


  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in QC Management Role.
  • Five+ year experience in the Flavor and Fragrance industry or related.
  • Good computer skills with ability to understand and work with all the current GC-MS database systems.
  • Must be able to sit/stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent Ability to manage communicate using both written and verbal communication with diverse work groups, including customers and internal Berje employees.
  • Positive and professional manner, lead team to focus on detail, accuracy, and accountability.
  • Good computer skills. Needs to be proficient in windows operating system.
  • Demonstrates positive people skills with clear communication both in verbal and written form.
  • Passionate and results oriented with a focus on team development and Best Practices.
