SUMMARY:

  • The Assistant Manager is an essential part of the management team with a focus on customer service, sales and quality assurance. The Company is looking for a second Assistant Manager to provide management coverage on Fridays and Saturdays. This position is 80% operational / 20% administrative


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your primary role is to ensure quality of services and care, build positive relationships with our customers, and manage and coach team members

  • Manage daily operations and ensure quality of care and services
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers and dogs
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
  • Assist in employee recruitment, training, performance evaluation, promotion and termination activities
  • Have expert knowledge of company's products and services with ability to suggest services for customer needs and promote dog wellbeing
  • Perform audits and follow-up to ensure product and service quality
  • Ensure all pricing, signage, and displays are correct at all times and the lobby and front desk is neat and orderly and assist with ordering
  • Ensure equipment and supplies are being properly maintained
  • Assist with facility maintenance. The facility to be maintained according to company standards to optimize safety, health and appearance
  • Help team with on shift duties to ensure success and completion of work
  • Other duties as may be assigned


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must love dogs and be willing and able to learn dog behavior and health
  • Management or supervisor experience, preferably in animal services
  • At least 2 years customer service experience
  • Highly developed interpersonal and managerial skills
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence, develop and empower employees
  • Ability to work under own initiative in a face paced environment
  • Ability to work through problems, troubleshoot and come to an appropriate solutions
  • Ability to prioritize work based on deadlines and urgency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Must love dogs and be able to interact and engage with all breeds
  • Associates or Bachelor degree a plus


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Standing for up to 7 hours per day
  • Ability to lift up to 45lbs
  • Bending, reaching, and other physical demands associated with cleaning and handling dogs
