UV Resources/Steril-Aire (The UVC Companies) is seeking a self-driven Project Engineering who will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our products. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring efficient, reliable, and products for our customers driving continuous improvements and innovation. You will collaborate with various players: team of engineers, technicians, manufacturing personnel, and project managers meeting customer requirements and industry standards.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within the commercial and industrial HVAC markets. They possess hybrid knowledge in both mechanical and electrical engineering with expertise in reading and comprehending drawings, specifications, and bid documents with a goal to advance our electrical products, systems, and applications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform calculations to ensure our systems meet the global safety standards, collaborate with technicians and computer programmers to solve emerging issues
  • Research on manufacturing processes and analyze data and trends to create new products
  • Provides engineering design, maintenance support and training to the manufacturing areas and assesses new and existing equipment to optimize efficiency, safety, quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Design and conduct experiments, collect data and interpret results, conduct analysis and write analysis and test reports. Capability to draw conclusions and reconcile differences between predicted and actual results.
  • Plan and coordinate the maintenance of moderately complex engineering solutions including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical or other presentations to ensure visibility of the solution(s) in an evolving environment.
  • Designs new equipment and machinery as conceived to support the in-house needs of Manufacturing and Engineering.
  • Assists in building, installing, debugging and testing new equipment to ensure production capabilities.
  • Determines maintenance schedules, procedures and safety standards on current and new equipment to ensure equipment is operated, maintained and serviced properly.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of our products to identify opportunities for improvement in energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and system reliability
  • Recommend and implement enhancements, upgrades, or retrofits to optimize system performance
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation, including system drawings, control narratives, and user manuals for each of our products
  • Generate regular progress reports and project updates for internal team
  • Work with an external laboratory team to qualify new products
  • Promote adherence to safety protocols during system installation and commissioning
  • Provide training and support to end-users, facility managers, and maintenance personnel on the operation and maintenance of our products
  • Offer technical assistance and troubleshoot issues encountered by customers and team members
  • Work closely with our purchasing department on specs new components for innovation, executing a new product launch or any additional requirements of components

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design & packaging and thermal management of electronics

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Automated Logic Controls, Delta Controls, Siemens Climatix Controls
  • Experience in ePlan design software
  • Experience with UL1995, UL60335-2-40, UL508A, and NEC
  • Experience with listing / certification agencies such as UL and/or Intertek
  • Experience in computer programming, including Python, MS Basic. Net and C#

Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of electronic subsystems and circuit boards
  • Experience with SolidWorks & AutoCAD (Geometric Dimensioning and tolerancing to ASME Y14.5)
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of TQM (Total Quality Management)
  • Ability to read simple schematics
  • Experience working as part of a cross-functional team in the product development from concept to production
  • Excellent prioritization and project development skills
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of leadership
