ABOUT THE ROLE


The schedule for this role is overnight, with on-call hours from 7 PM to 7 AM and on-site hours from 11 PM to 7 AM. This role requires a high level of readiness and the ability to act quickly in a fast-paced environment. As the Assistant Fleet Manager, your day starts by reviewing the previous night's performance metrics and addressing any issues that arose. You coordinate with the dispatch team to ensure all vehicles are routed efficiently and all drivers are briefed on their schedules and safety protocols. Throughout the night, you monitor operations, troubleshoot any logistical problems, and ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.


Additionally, you engage with independent contractors, manage team performance, and maintain detailed reports. Your role is absolutely crucial in ensuring that every shipment arrives on time, keeping the wheels of commerce turning smoothly.


What you need to qualify:

  • 2+ years of solid knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics
  • Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Driving experience in a 26' box truck or equivalent with a valid class C license


Highly Preferred:

  • CDL A license
  • Experience working with independent contractors
