Fleet Maintenance Technician

The Fleet Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting service repairs and performing maintenance on various types of automotive equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, fleet vehicles, construction machinery, and specialized vehicles utilized in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Fleet Maintenance Technician, your primary duties will include:
- Executing preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and machinery, such as oil changes, tire repairs, and fluid checks.
- Conducting thorough inspections of parts and engines to identify any irregularities.
- Performing road tests on vehicles and routine maintenance on equipment like pumps and generators.
- Utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to safety protocols while executing job duties.
Additional Duties:
You will also be expected to:
- Regularly assess the working conditions and cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
- Manage inventory control by tracking purchased items and repair orders.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Carry out other related tasks as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Comprehensive knowledge of automotive repairs and maintenance.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
- Proficiency in using tools and methods for light repairs on heavy machinery.
Skills:
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to:
- Initiate and complete repairs on various vehicles and equipment.
- Utilize basic technology effectively.
- Maintain accurate records and manage work orders efficiently.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have:
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of one year of experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
This position requires physical capabilities to perform tasks such as climbing, lifting, and working in various environmental conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Other Requirements:
A valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License is required, along with the ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
