Job Description:


We are looking for an experienced Power/Electrical Product Engineer to help us move the company to the next stages of its evolution and growth. As we continue to build our portfolio of products, we need a hands-on experienced Power/Electrical Product Engineer who will work closely with suppliers to design new products. The Power/Electrical Product Engineer will be responsible for supporting the North American product team and interfacing with development partners in Asia. You will be asked to design it, make it, break it and then fix it



Responsibilities:


- Leverage knowledge of best practices in lithium ion battery and circuit board layout to design/develop/validate best in class charging devices for personal electronics


- experience defining specifications, sourcing, testing of lithium ion (lithium polymer) battery charging accessories


- Lead the development of new products through “bread boarding” and into mass production


- Develop quality performance standards and then evaluate and tests products to ensure that products meet these standards


- Be able to make process improvement recommendations in order to improve manufacturing output and product durability to meet our customer’s needs


- Negotiate product development schedules with suppliers to meet key phase gate deliverables


- Manage product validation testing with third party laboratories and make recommendations based on the test data


- Validate design changes using available tools like 3D printing, prototype parts, hand mock up


- As needed conduct product validation testing and make recommendations based on electrical engineering knowledge



Skills/Experience:


- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes associated with lithium ion (lithium polymer) battery charging accessories


- Experience with design trade offs for lithium ion (lithium polymer) battery charging accessories and strong ability to communicate these trades


- Understanding of the current market for these products and ability to define future roadmap of these products





Salary Range: 125-150K Range
