Position Overview:

Wetalentia is seeking a proactive and driven Business Development Manager on behalf of our client. This role is based in Boston and involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, expanding market presence, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Acquisition: Identify potential new accounts within the transportation sector, targeting opportunities to increase market share.
  • Relationship Building: Establish connections with key decision-makers at targeted accounts, particularly those in charge of transportation and logistics.
  • Sales and Promotion: Actively promote our client's services to potential clients through direct sales efforts, including phone calls and door-to-door engagements.
  • Quotation Management: Prepare, send, and follow up on quotes to maximize conversion rates.
  • Operational Coordination: Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.Ps) for newly secured accounts to ensure seamless operations.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and retention.
  • Sales Recording: Record daily sales activities and interactions in the company’s system to track and report sales progress.
  • Field and Office Sales: Utilize both office-based and field-based sales strategies to engage with prospective clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
  • Demonstrated success in sales or business development, ideally within the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective negotiation and persuasion.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, experience with Cargowise is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently and in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to travel and conduct in-person client visits, including cold calls.
