Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Direct Material Requirements Planner II to join our team in Vacaville, CA. The ideal candidate will perform operational sourcing and procurement activities, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, and aligning with global category strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform operational sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Understand and support site-specific stakeholder requirements using knowledge and alignment with category strategy and sourcing instructions.
  • Lead and coordinate communication of status, progress, results, and action plans with site and global stakeholders.
  • Responsible for strategic purchasing of materials in the assigned category, ensuring compliance with costs, delivery times, and quality standards.
  • Conduct RFx processes, negotiate volumes, processes, and performance targets with suppliers (local, regional, and global).
  • Develop regional/site sourcing and strategy implementation plans and supplier strategies for assigned categories.
  • Monitor compliance with aligned specifications, resolve issues, and implement action plans with teams and suppliers.
  • Own actions for assigned materials category to achieve financial targets and delivery metrics (Savings, Supplier Delivery Performance, etc).
  • Ensure efficient procurement and supply of materials to meet manufacturing needs.
  • Independently lead business review meetings and support supplier review meetings.
  • Conduct negotiations and ad-hoc meetings with suppliers and service providers.
  • Drive cost optimization projects for better operational efficiency and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with local, regional, and global interfaces, ensuring transparent communication for procurement activities.
  • Understand and address site/region requirements for assigned materials category and align activities with global category.
  • Perform regular benchmarking of supplier and product portfolios to ensure access to innovation and competitive costs.
  • Support and lead local, regional, and global projects, coordinating implementation of global category strategies.
  • Comply with local and global policies, procedures, and standards to ensure uninterrupted supply to meet KPIs and targets.


Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional Training: Commercial training with relevant professional experience.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum 4 years of professional experience in procurement.


Other Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of standard concepts and practices in Purchasing.
  • Ability to read and interpret material masters, specifications, drawings, and vendor certificates.
  • Knowledge of various MRP types and impact on inventory levels.
  • Experience in writing routine correspondence with vendors and accurately describing technical discrepancies.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.


Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard purchasing concepts and practices.
  • Ability to identify assembly versus components of an assembly.
  • Strong customer, vendor, and internal partner communication skills.
  • Experience in buying/planning aspects of an integrated ERP environment, preferably with SAP.
  • Experience in Purchasing and Vendor Management.
  • Supply Chain or Material Management experience, with spare parts knowledge a plus.
  • Professional certifications (CPIM, CSCP, ISM, APICS) preferred.
