SUMMARY

  • As part of our centralized Program Management Office (PMO), this individual will be responsible for providing project management leadership of strategic projects/programs and provides guidance across the enterprise in project management process and methodologies
  • .Manages the project to meet requirements thru all phases of the project life cycle thru a structured product development process
  • Acts as single point of contact to all stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Executes to a performance measurement baseline (PMB) for scope, cost and time
  • Demonstrates ability to work consistently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment


The candidate will work closely with all segments of the organization (engineering, sales/marketing, accounting, procurement, and operations) to ensure a cohesive well-organized and professional product is delivered to our valued customers.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Has the ability to execute the project on schedule, within budget, and with “Best in Class” quality standards. Is able to assign responsibilities, delegate and empower others, and remove obstacles.
  • Possesses project planning skills and the ability to develop a baseline integrated project plan encompassing all deliverables of the project WBS. Develops short and long range plans, which are appropriately comprehensive, realistic and effective in meeting goals.
  • Allows for and obtains needed resources. Coordinates work efforts, monitors progress and manages expertise/resources in accordance with the project management plan.
  • Analyzes project elements to establish project status. Takes corrective action.
  • Identifies and manages risks and anticipates potential problems. Develops action plans to mitigate risk. Identifies and implements alternative solutions.
  • Utilizes structured change management methodologies to ensure impact is defined and agreed upon before implementation.
  • Monitors, reviews, and updates the project plan. Ensures that interfaces are recognized and tasks are integrated as a whole.
  • Tracks and evaluates project performance to established plans through the use of project schedules, financial reports and quality metrics.
  • Utilizes analytical tools to identify, gather, and synthesize relevant information critical in making accurate project decisions.
  • Monitors individual/team performance and contributions relating to key goals, corporate initiatives, and commitments.
  • Perform trade studies to evaluate business case and ROI of projects and new opportunities.
  • Develops solutions to program problems.
  • Facilitate communication with internal and external customers.
  • Participate in bid/no bid meetings.
  • Travels to various customer sites.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in a product development related discipline 7 - 10 years combined engineering and program management experience in a product development and manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. BS degree in Engineering or similar technical education from an accredited university.
  • PMP® certified by Project Management Institute

  • General knowledge of operations, including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, test engineering, field service, business development, and quality systems.
  • High technical knowledge and use of MS Office, MS Project, MS Project and Project Online (cloud based) tool including Power BI Interface for Project Management dashboards. Has the ability to generate project status data and reports.
  • Knowledge of engineering development processes including product development and configuration management.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
  • Demonstrates an emphasis on high morale, collegiality, effective teamwork, high performance, and meeting commitments in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to exercise exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills is a must




LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY


Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


  • OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES The following computer skills are required; ProE, Microsoft Office Suite including word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Expert level competency in MS Project and familiar with portfolio-based systems such as MS Project Online
  • Leadership skills, business development and marketing capabilities, customer knowledge, technical insight.
  • Ability to participate as a team member, ability to listen actively and respond in group discussions.
  • Willingness to learn other job skills and assist other team members.
  • Ability to use software programs to develop methods to support project planning and documentation (MS Project, Word, and Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
