We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to support our Sourcing and Materials team. The buyer/planner will assist in the procurement and inventory planning processes to ensure that the right materials, components, and products are available at the right time to meet production schedules.


Responsibilities


Collaborate with the Sourcing and Materials Manager to source and select materials and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of electrical components, raw materials, and other supplies.

Communicate and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Evaluate supplier performance, track supplier metrics, and communicate findings to the Sourcing and Materials Manager.

Assist in developing and maintaining an accurate inventory plan to meet production requirements while minimizing excess stock.

Assist in developing, maintaining, & auditing safety stock & field service inventories

Conduct regular audits and provide insights to optimize inventory turnover.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, sales, quality, and engineering to gather data for accurate demand forecasting.

Support the Sourcing and Materials Manager in utilizing historical data for projecting future demand.

Assist in generating production schedules based on demand forecasts, lead times, and capacity constraints.

Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely execution of manufacturing processes and delivery of raw materials.

Follow up with vendors on late orders, notify Sourcing Manager and Materials Manager, and update system accordingly.

Collaborate with the Sourcing and Materials Manager to monitor and analyze costs associated with procurement and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.

Support compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards in all procurement activities.

Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of purchasing transactions, contracts, lead times, and supplier information.

Notify Sourcing and Materials Manager of invoice discrepancies with vendors for investigation and to initiate chargebacks as needed.

Maintain purchasing data dashboard, at least weekly, with assistance of sourcing manager.

Other duties as required.



Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Five years of experience in procurement, sourcing, and planning in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Proficient in using ERP systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with other team members, vendors, and clients.

Knowledge of electrical components and their specifications is a plus.
