DonahueFavret Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Director of Finance and Accounting to lead the financial operations of our mid-size construction company. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Mandeville, LA, working closely with the President, Board of Directors, and Operations Team. We are looking for someone with 10+ years of experience in finance leadership (preferably in Commercial Construction) who thrives in a collaborative and hands-on environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Oversight: Manage accounting, financial reporting, work-in-process/job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
  • Strategic Planning: Provide financial insights and recommendations for capital investments, pricing, and contract negotiations.
  • Audit & Compliance: Oversee job auditing, internal audits, and corporate financials, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial standards.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of three direct reports, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between departments, working closely with the President, Operations Team, and Board of Directors.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track financial performance, calculate variances from budgets, and recommend benchmarks.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of financial leadership experience, with a preference for candidates from the Commercial Construction industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across all levels of the company.
  • Proven ability to manage competing demands in a dynamic environment and adapt to changes seamlessly.
  • High proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, job costing, and budgeting.
  • This is a full-time, on-site role; candidates must be available to work in our Mandeville, LA office daily.
