Key ResponsibilitiesThis role collaborates closely with the Company President, Board of Directors, and Operations Team, overseeing all financial operations of our mid-sized construction firm.
The ideal candidate will engage in hands-on management of:
- Accounting and financial reporting
- Work in process/job costing
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Job auditing/internal audit
- Cash management functions
- Strategic financial initiatives
Responsibilities also include:
- Maintaining and reporting on Corporate Financials
- Auditing Costs of Goods Sold for construction projects
- Recommending benchmarks for financial performance
- Calculating variances from the budget and addressing significant issues
- Providing financial analyses for capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations
This position reports directly to the President & CEO and supervises three direct reports.
Preferred QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess:
- CPA certification
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- A minimum of 10 years of hands-on managerial experience in accounting
- Experience in the commercial construction industry with annual revenues exceeding $50M
- Familiarity with Viewpoint Software is advantageous
The successful candidate will:
- Identify and resolve issues promptly, gathering and analyzing information effectively
- Maintain confidentiality while being receptive to others' ideas and willing to explore new approaches
- Communicate clearly and persuasively in various situations
- Prioritize and plan work activities efficiently, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness
- Adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands
- Follow safety and security protocols and utilize equipment and materials appropriately
