Allied Automation, Inc., a growing high-technology distributor, seeks a Sales Application Engineer for South Bend, Mishawaka, and Elkhart, IN.

You will be able to learn about their product offerings to better equip you with the knowledge necessary to provide a solution-based sales approach.


  • Monitor progress toward goals, making necessary adjustments to reach objectives.
  • Develop and support sales strategies and objectives to expand market share in the region.
  • Initiate and develop contact with key and target customers to establish strong relationships.
  • Develop knowledge in the primary product areas, including Robotics, PLC, HMI, Servos/Motion Control, Safety Devices, Sensors, and Networking.
  • Consult on applications with customers in the primary product areas.
  • Consistently use PC-based software to document sales opportunities and to coordinate required sales activities between other regions and management.
  • Travel is required, mainly Elkhart/South Bend IN – occasional domestic travel may be required for training.


  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical, industrial technology, industrial engineering, application engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial controls, as well as the machine applications encountered in the South Bend or Elkhart area, Industrial Automation Market – including experience with end-user specifications.
  • Ability to develop a customer base and generate sales to accommodate goals, as well as consultative sales ability.
  • Strong negotiating, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of conducting technical and sales presentations to key clients.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of follow-through.


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The total compensation awarded is $120-$150K plus commissions, earning potential to $200K. You will also receive an excellent benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance with three weeks of vacation, holidays, and a matching 401K plan.
