Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager. The ideal candidate will hold a CPA license and have a deep understanding of tax regulations, compliance, and planning strategies. The Tax Manager will oversee all aspects of tax compliance and reporting, manage tax audits, and provide strategic tax planning advice to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with all relevant laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax positions and minimize liabilities.
  • Audit Management: Manage and oversee tax audits, liaise with auditors, and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Research and Analysis: Stay current with changing tax laws and regulations, and conduct in-depth research to provide proactive advice to the organization.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review tax provisions for financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable tax laws.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage tax risks, ensuring appropriate controls and processes are in place.
  • Special Projects: Lead or participate in special projects, including mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and other business initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree in Taxation or a related field is a plus.
  • Certification: CPA license is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws; proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
  • Integrity: High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity and compliance.
