ABOUT THE ROLE:

Summary of the role: The Casual Administrative Officer performs an integral role in the functioning of admin tasks throughout the Hospital. The role involves providing administrative relief in various areas of the hospital including all wards, emergency, outpatients and reception areas. This role requires flexibility and availability to work at short notice within a 24 hour, 7 day a week rotating roster (minimum 3 days a week availability) and being prepared to change rostered days and shifts.

Located at Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg in the Patient Services Inpatients and Outpatients teams. Work in a friendly, values-driven team providing great patient care across the hospital. Responsible for the prompt and accurate registration, admission and discharge of patients, polite and friendly phone manner, booking outpatient appointments, ensuring accurate documentation of data is maintained and general administrative duties as required. Work independently and handle sensitive data and confidential information professionally.

ABOUT YOU:

Previous clerical experience within the health industry and experience with Patient Management Systems (iPM) desirable. Enthusiastic and motivated, and ability to work autonomously and within a team environment. Must have flexibility to work various shifts at short notice. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail and time management skills. Sound administrative skills and amazing customer service experience.
