Position Overview:
The Bookkeeping Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records managing accounts payable and receivable and supporting the overall financial health of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records including ledgers journals and spreadsheets.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
- Prepare and process payroll ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Generate and review financial reports including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage vendor and client communications related to invoicing and payments.
- Support the preparation of yearend financial statements and audits.
- Assist with special projects and other accountingrelated tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Previous experience in agriculture manufacturing or construction industry is preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
