Job Title: AP Specialist

About the Job:

Our client, a leading manufacturing and distribution business, is seeking an experienced AP Specialist to join their team. As an AP Specialist, you will be responsible for performing Accounts Payable functions, including coding vendor invoices, matching invoices with receiving documents, and entering invoices into the system. You will also process all payments timely to avoid late fees, review incoming mail/invoices from vendors for accurate billing, and obtain proper approvals for all invoices prior to payment. Additionally, you will verify Vendor Master data, ensure that all vendor information is accurate, and generate check, ACH, and Wire transfer payments timely to vendors. You will also file all vendor check payments and invoices timely, ensure vendor early payment discounts are maximized, and review and reconcile PCARD, Concur, General Card, Travel Card, and WEX Card statements timely. You will train and educate employees on expense report procedures as well as A/P procedures, review and reconcile vendor accounts, verifying receipt of open items and payment records, establish credibility with vendors by maintaining open communications, research, and resolving problems, prepare periodic reports, and be responsible for yearly 1099 reporting. You will also assist in special projects and analysis, and other tasks as assigned. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, proven data entry skills, and strong organizational skills.
