*Nursing Supervisor (AD) - Part Time - Nights vary upon need - 8pm - 8am*The Assistant Director is a professional nurse responsible for the coordination and supervision of nursing units on an assigned shift. The assistant Director is responsible in the absence of a department manager, the Director of Nursing Services or the Hospital Administrator. Performs staffing adjustments for clinical nursing units. Retrieves medications from Pharmacy and other supplies from Materials Management and Central Sterile Department. Makes frequent rounds on units and assists as needed. Handles patient complaints and reports up to manager as needed. Compiles shift reports as directed.

*Education: Minimum of BSN preferred

*Licensure/ Certification: Current Georgia RN License.
BLS and ACLS Required
ACLS provider certification preferred (within 90 days); certification in specialty area preferred.

*The Assistant Director provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients of the indicated ages: Infants (Newborn to One Year) Adolescent (Ten to 18 Years)
Toddlers (Two to Four Years) Adult (19 to 69 Years)
Child (Five to Nine Years) Geriatric (70 and Above)

*Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Extends courtesy and demonstrates cooperation while communicating with others
  • Gives a concise, pertinent report to the oncoming AD or Nurse Manager at the change of shifts
  • Utilizes effective communication skills with patient, families, Charge Nurse, Medical Staff, Director, peers and Nurse Managers in a pleasant positive manner
  • Accepts suggestions and criticisms and whenever necessary undertakes to change personal behavior or seek further guidance
  • Effectively leads and directs activities of others in a positive manner
  • Supports the philosophy, policies and procedures of the Division of Nursing
