Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise nursing units effectively during assigned shifts.
  • Act as the primary nursing leader in the absence of the department manager or Director of Nursing Services.
  • Make necessary staffing adjustments to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Retrieve medications and supplies as needed to support nursing operations.
  • Conduct regular rounds on nursing units, providing assistance and addressing patient concerns.
  • Compile and submit shift reports as required.

Patient Care:
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for delivering both direct and indirect nursing care to patients across various age groups, including:

  • Toddlers (Two to Four Years)
  • Children (Five to Nine Years)
  • Adults (19 to 69 Years)
  • Geriatric Patients (70 and Above)

Essential Skills:

  • Utilize effective communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Support and uphold the policies and procedures of the Nursing Division.
  • Participate in staff evaluations and contribute to goal-setting processes.
  • Document and counsel personnel as necessary during shifts.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and monitor their progress.
  • Maintain professional nursing organization membership and stay informed on current healthcare issues.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a valid nursing license and relevant experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare setting. A commitment to patient-centered care and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are essential.
