Position Overview:

The Nursing Supervisor (AD) is a pivotal role within our healthcare facility, responsible for overseeing nursing operations during assigned shifts. This part-time position requires flexibility in scheduling, particularly during night hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and supervise nursing units effectively during assigned shifts.
  • Act as the responsible nurse in the absence of the department manager or Director of Nursing Services.
  • Adjust staffing levels as necessary to meet clinical needs.
  • Manage medication retrieval and supply orders from relevant departments.
  • Conduct regular rounds on nursing units, providing assistance as required.
  • Address patient concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Compile and submit shift reports as directed.

Patient Care:

The Nursing Supervisor provides both direct and indirect nursing care to patients across various age groups, including:

  • Toddlers (Two to Four Years)
  • Children (Five to Nine Years)
  • Adults (19 to 69 Years)
  • Geriatric Patients (70 and Above)

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering clear and concise reports to the incoming nursing staff at shift changes.
  • Utilizing effective communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Supporting nursing policies and contributing to staff evaluations and goal-setting.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and maintaining professional nursing organization memberships.

Professional Development:

Stay informed about current issues in nursing and healthcare, and actively participate in departmental and hospital activities.
