The School of Education and Human Development (EHD) seek applicants for a Senior Administrative Coordinator for the Education Leadership, Foundations & Policy | UVA School of Education and Human Development (virginia.edu) (EDLF). Under the direction of the Education Leadership, Foundations and Policy (EDLF) Department Administrator, the incumbent undertakes various responsibilities that are critical to the successful performance of the department and require professionalism, collaboration, initiative, and attention to detail.

The Department of Leadership, Foundation and Policy strives to improve educational organizations and advance knowledge with the goal of producing high quality, equitable educational experiences. Together, students, staff and faculty strive to prepare a new generation of experts in our fields who are prepared to make wise, evidence-based decisions that will improve youth settings and society. We provide education and training programs that contribute to quality educational practice and policy at all levels, from preschool through higher education. The MEd, EdD, and PhD programs focus on social foundations of education, research design and statistics, human development and educational psychology, PreK-12 school leadership, higher education, and education policy.

The Senior Administrative Coordinator position involves the creation and use of systems to support course and program activities. The person in this role will interact regularly with a diverse group of faculty and staff and will be expected to provide a high level of service to all department stakeholders.

Work is executed both independently and by the direction of the Department Chair and Department Administrator, in collaboration with program faculty. The work is collaborative in that the candidate will work with a dynamic team of staff members and will involve communications across offices at EHD and UVA.

Responsibilities include:
Managing course logistics involving projecting course needs, coordinating course schedules to meet student and faculty needs, serving as the point person for the registrar.
Providing general, clerical coordination to support office operations.
Supporting event planning and logistics including expense tracking (e.g., planning for multi-day visits for MEd and EdD students, faculty meeting lunches).
Support on-line course instruction by communicating with adjunct faculty and supporting faculty as they move courses on-line.
Providing administrative support for special projects (e.g., identifying partners for internships)
Planning visits for visiting faculty candidates.
Synchronizing program manuals with information on the graduate record.
Supporting website updates.
Managing departmental listserves.
Maintaining paper and electronic documents in a systematic, organized manner for retention and retrieval, with appropriate confidentiality.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Six years of experience. Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with online/hybrid graduate programs.
Proficiency in computer tools and applications (e.g., SmartSheet and other typical university databases or programs).
Proficiency in at least one learning management system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
Demonstrated ability to create, maintain and improve processes in ways that use technological solutions to problems and involve collaboration with others in the creation and use of those systems; must be able to interpret information and apply that information to daily work.
Ability to troubleshoot technology issues independently.

Anticipated Salary Range: This is an hourly salary with UVA benefits .

Physical Demands
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
