Responsibilities



Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) represent scientific and engineering leadership in fungal research for the nation and world, serving a wide variety of federal and commercial clients. The Chemical & Biological Processing group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is looking for post-bachelor candidate to perform fundamental and/or applied R&D work on biofuels and biochemical using microorganisms. 

The position requires a versatile individual with applied/hands-on laboratory experience, experience in molecular biology, fundamental microbiology, and general biology laboratory skills. Projects available range from fundamental studies involving the molecular-level structural and functional aspects of fungal systems to applied research involving molecular biology understanding and genetics. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively and safely with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, be self-motivated, and have excellent communication skills.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have received a Bachelor’s degree within the past 24 months or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university. Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates must have received a Bachelors degree in biology.

Training and hands-on research experiences in:

molecular biology, and troubleshooting;

fungal genetics;

fermentation

Be a motivated and creative individual who aspires to grow into an independent and productive researcher.
