Responsibilities
The ideal candidate is a well-organized, self-starter, with a high capacity for attention to detail. Verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong time management skills, are essential in order to balance activities among several concurrently operating projects.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have received a Bachelor’s degree within the past 24 months or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university. Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 required.Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Nuclear Engineering, Physics or Experimental Physics, Mathematics, or a related field. Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred. Experience in plasma physics. Recommending technical approaches and contributions that may ultimately affect the direction of the research. Working in technical teams to complete project tasks on time and within scope and budget. Hands on experience with physics experiments under extreme conditions, high power lasers, ultra high vacuum systems, plasma physics, data acquisitions, data analysis, measurements.Hazardous Working Conditions/Environment

Additional Information
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship Background Investigation: Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance with 10 CFR 710, Appendix B. Testing Designated Position
This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The candidate selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing for illegal drugs, including marijuana, consistent with the Controlled Substances Act and the PNNL Workplace Substance Abuse Program.
