Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

BS/BA and 2 years of relevant experience -OR- MS/MA -OR- PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD. in bioinformatics, cheminformatics, computational biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or related fields is preferred.

Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, R)

Proficient working in software development platforms (GitLab, GitHub)

Demonstrated experience in microbial ecology, genome resolved metagenomics, meta-omic data and genome mining tools (biosynthetic gene clusters)

Experience with processing and interpretation of omics data including metagenomics, metatranscriptomics and/or metabolomics

Strong communications skills in an interdisciplinary environment

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, creativity and the ability to work with abstract concepts to develop innovative analytical methods

Ability to lead specific components of the larger project and ability to work independently as well as a productive member of a team

Excellent project and time management skills
