Job Summary: The Nonprofit Recruiter is responsible for sourcing attracting and hiring top talent for various roles within a nonprofit organization. This role requires a deep understanding of the nonprofit sector including the unique challenges and opportunities it presents. The Nonprofit Recruiter works closely with hiring managers and organizational leadership to develop and execute recruitment strategies that align with the organizations mission and values ensuring a steady pipeline of passionate and qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. EndtoEnd Recruitment:

    • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for positions within the nonprofit sector including job postings candidate sourcing interviewing and onboarding.
    • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates for roles such as program coordinators development officers grant writers community outreach specialists and executive leaders.
    • Conduct initial screenings and interviews to assess candidates qualifications experience and alignment with the organizations mission and values.

  2. Collaboration with Hiring Managers:

    • Partner with hiring managers to understand the specific requirements of each role including the skills experience and values needed to succeed in a nonprofit environment.
    • Provide guidance on best practices for interviewing and candidate selection within the nonprofit sector.
    • Regularly update hiring managers on the progress of open positions and provide insights on the candidate market.

  3. Candidate Experience:

    • Ensure a positive candidate experience by maintaining clear and timely communication throughout the recruitment process.
    • Provide candidates with detailed information about the organization its mission programs and the specific role they are applying for.
    • Manage the offer process including salary negotiation and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.

  4. MissionDriven Recruitment:

    • Source candidates who are not only skilled but also passionate about the organizations mission and values.
    • Leverage networks within the nonprofit community to identify potential candidates who align with the organizations goals.
    • Promote the organizations mission as a key selling point in candidate outreach and engagement.

  5. Market Research and Insights:

    • Conduct market research to stay informed about trends in nonprofit employment including salary benchmarks and talent availability.
    • Provide datadriven insights and recommendations to hiring managers and HR leadership to help inform recruitment strategies.
    • Stay updated on the latest recruitment tools technologies and best practices specific to nonprofit recruitment.

  6. Employer Branding:

    • Collaborate with the HR and communications teams to enhance the organizations employer brand within the nonprofit community.
    • Represent the organization at industry events job fairs and networking functions to attract top nonprofit talent.
    • Create and share content that highlights the organizations culture values and career opportunities within the nonprofit sector.

  7. Data and Reporting:

    • Track and analyze key recruitment metrics such as timetofill costperhire and quality of hire to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
    • Prepare reports and presentations on recruitment activities candidate pipelines and hiring outcomes for HR leadership and organizational stakeholders.
    • Use datadriven insights to continuously improve recruitment processes and decisionmaking.

  8. Compliance and Record Keeping:

    • Ensure compliance with all federal state and local employment laws and regulations throughout the recruitment process.
    • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of candidate interactions and recruitment activities in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
    • Assist in preparing compliance reports such as EEO1 and other regulatory filings as required.

  9. Continuous Improvement:

    • Continuously seek opportunities to improve recruitment processes leveraging feedback from hiring managers and candidates.
    • Participate in professional development and training to enhance recruitment skills and knowledge specific to the nonprofit sector.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of new recruitment strategies and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Nonprofit Management Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 35 years of experience in recruitment with a focus on nonprofit roles.
  • Strong knowledge of the nonprofit sector including its unique challenges opportunities and employment practices.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective recruitment strategies for nonprofit positions.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a missiondriven environment.
