Responsibilities SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide a focal point for the management and administration of international students training at Sheppard AFB under the United States Security Assistance Training.

Incumbent manages a diversified and comprehensive program to support the Wing and International community. Position is to function as an expert in matters of international training.

DUTIES:
Serves as point of contact for international training and matters pertaining to the Security Assistance Training Program. Selects, coordinates, and conducts educational field trips for the purpose of augmenting classroom instruction and to meet program objectives. Directs and manages international military student affairs. Plans, manages and executes the Field Studies Program budget. Communicates and enforces U.S. military and civilian standards.

Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.


SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR CURRENT FEDERAL EMPLOYEES:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems.

Examples of specialized experience includes 1) Applying knowledge of directives and procedures governing the Security Assistance Training Program (SATP) and the Informational Program (IP).

2) Carrying out continuing cultural, educational, and social programs, tours, and activities for International Military Students (IMS) and their dependents.

3) Providing knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 4) Planning, organizing, and directing the functions of small to medium sized groups. 5) Communicating effectively, orally and in writing, to respond to various audiences, with diverse backgrounds and language abilities. 6) Using knowledge of principles and techniques required to evaluate international programs. 7) Conducting interviews to establish nature and extent of concerns/ issues, providing assistance in developing goals and plans, and/or determining appropriate referral services/options. 8) Applying knowledge of training resources programs, principles, and policies.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE:

Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
