PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Logistics Management Technician utilizes extensive technical expertise to facilitate logistics operations within the PMEL framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee Material Control, Scheduling, Shipping, and Supply operations within the PMEL.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of incoming Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) as per established guidelines.
  • Manage the logistics of TMDE shipments to and from external clients, ensuring proper documentation and coordination with relevant offices.
  • Create and maintain both digital and manual records for equipment requests associated with PMEL.
  • Monitor TMDE statuses and conduct timely follow-ups on delayed items.
  • Assess projected workloads and inform management of any significant deviations from planned schedules.
  • Implement strategies to reduce overdue TMDE instances.
  • Conduct training for TMDE Coordinators.
  • Provide on-base delivery services as needed.
  • Order and track necessary parts for TMDE repairs, keeping customers informed of any delays.
  • Fulfill the duties of the PMEL Technical Order Distribution Officer.
  • Research and verify parts requests using available resources.
  • Maintain organized equipment storage areas.
  • Utilize the PMEL Automated Management System (PAMS) for accurate data entry and status updates.
  • Control the PMEL bench stock, ensuring compliance with shelf life and security protocols.
  • Organize work center inventory and prepare it for laboratory technicians.
  • Process documentation for Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO).
  • Manage the PMEL Hazardous Waste program, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Oversee Satellite Accumulation Points for hazardous materials.
  • Administer the PMEL Precious Metals Program.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly calibration schedules for review.
  • Inspect and maintain company vehicles.
  • Conduct visual inspections of TMDE, ensuring all necessary documentation is present.
  • Coordinate with various depots for TMDE repair and calibration services.
  • Review resource availability and recommend adjustments to repair schedules.
  • Input accurate data into the TMDE Master ID file using PAMS.
  • Instruct TMDE Monitors on repair and calibration procedures.
  • Process equipment received from external calibration services.
  • Perform additional related duties as required to support organizational needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position carries the authority to execute assigned tasks without supervisory duties.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant PMEL or calibration experience is essential.
  • Must meet background check requirements and obtain necessary security clearance.
  • Documentation of equipment and area discipline qualifications is required.
  • Proven track record of quality performance as a calibration technician is necessary.
  • Experience in inspecting, troubleshooting, and calibrating TMDE is required.
