Role Summary

The Manager, Scientific Communications – Parkinson's disease will work with the Director, Scientific Communications to lead and manage the tactical execution of an integrated scientific communication plan (ICP) that meets the TA medical goals and objectives. In this role, the Manager will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams throughout the organization to execute a comprehensive Publication Plan including supporting the development of congress presentations and scientific manuscripts. The Manager may also be supporting the development of core scientific communications materials including slide decks and other tactics to support Medical Affairs capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the assigned therapeutic area
  • Execute a robust publication plan aligned with clinical development milestones and key medical objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key data to be published
  • Ensure compliance with industry guidelines and best practices for scientific publications
  • Coordinate abstract submissions, poster presentations, and oral sessions at scientific congresses
  • Engage directly with external scientific thought leaders (STL) that are potential authors
  • Manage agency partners involved in developing and submitting publications to journals and scientific conferences
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of all scientific publications
  • Monitor impact factors, citation rates, and other relevant metrics
  • Lead publication meetings and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with Cerevel publications policy and standard operating procedures and with external guidelines on good publication practices

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in scientific publications management within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with industry guidelines (e.g., ICMJE, GPP3) and publication best practices
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time

Desired Qualifications

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and clinical data to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to review and edit scientific content meticulously
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

Education

  • PharmD, Master's or Ph.D. in a scientific discipline (e.g., life sciences, pharmacology, or related field)
