Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Mass Spectrometer (MS) equipment at customer labs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform on-site installation and preventive maintenance of HPLC and MS equipment
  • Schedule and track service calls, manage personal parts inventories, and complete service reports using service ticket management software
  • Train customers on HPLC and MS equipment and software
  • Review customer data to determine equipment health and functionality
  • Collaborate and share repair diagnostic information with engineering and customer service teams
  • Stay up to date with technical bulletins and factory communications
  • Act as a communication link between the customer and the company
  • Regularly attend technical and service training provided by Thermo Fisher Scientific
  • Ensure accurate and efficient completion of service reports and administrative tasks
Requirements
  • AS degree in Sciences, Engineering, Electronics
  • 1-2 years of experience operating and/or maintaining electronics
  • Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
Work Conditions
  • Ability to travel up to 25% overnight domestic travel
  • Ability to work overtime and/or outside regular business hours, and/or on-call work
  • Physical strength required to manage weights up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
