Summary
Symbotic is looking for people who thrive in fast-paced, solutions-oriented, and creative environments. The primary responsibility of the Repair Technician III is to, under limited supervision execute all functions of repair of Symbot's and subassemblies as outlined by the released OMS (Operations Method Sheets) and provide feedback to management any discrepancies in material or process that affect the quality of the robotic vehicle or the efficiency of the repair process.
Primary Responsibilities
Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions (such as Operation Method Sheets and Sequence of Events), assembly drawings, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates, fixtures, or reading measurements.Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Documents actions by completing repair log, traveler, and quality forms.Test Symbotic electromechanical subassemblies for functionality and/or quality.Possess the ability to train contractors in all aspects of the required role.Perform troubleshooting of the robotic vehicle fleet, identifying anomalies and stoppages using schematic and wiring diagrams as well as test equipment. Perform inspection and evaluation of delivered robotic fleet vehicles to sites. Verifying equipment has met quality standards, has not suffered any damages through shipping and handling, and is Structure Ready. Assist engineers in activities for Bot improvements.Travel to customer sites for on-site support, 25% of the time. Education and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent.Associate degree or equivalent experience/ certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing or equivalent field preferred. 4+ years of previous experience in the Machine Shop, Manufacturing Assembly Environment, or mechanical automation systems.1+ years in a Lead/Supervisor position of small groups.Computer knowledge using Microsoft Windows & Microsoft Word & ExcelExperience with ERP applications such as SAP or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred.High level of robotic troubleshooting (programming experience a plus) with strong electro-mechanical skills preferred. Proficient with different schematics and wiring diagrams. Confident in electrical troubleshooting and repairs. Initiative-taking and highly organized.Able to lift 60 pounds and can stand for extended periods of time.Possess an understanding of diverse types of mechanical and/or electrical test equipment.Ability to manage multiple tasks.Demonstrates initiative and is self-motivated.Hands-on skill set required; ready to learn, absorb, and utilize information in a demanding environment. Other Considerations There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground. Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit. AT times you may be at a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).Frequent ability to safely and efficiently lift items weighing up to 50lbs and move items weighing up to 80lbs.Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and is frequentlyrequired to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches.
