Deputy Chief Operating Officer Gresham
Gresham's Deputy COO will assist the COO in overseeing and optimizing the operational and technological functions of the organization. The Deputy COO will work closely with the senior management team to ensure the smooth functioning of Gresham's investment infrastructure. The Deputy COO will manage the Operations Team and the Development Team ("the Team") to coordinate and process trading activities at the firm. The Team supports the firm's departments (i.e., Trading, Research, Risk, Accounting, Legal, Compliance, Investor Relations, IT) by setting up and running processes, configuring and maintaining certain applications and databases, and facilitating the flow of high-quality data. The Deputy COO will interface with relevant external parties such as exchanges, brokers, FCMs/PBs, auditors, regulators, and banks/custodians as needed.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • "1. Operations Management
    a. Oversee the Operations Team responsible for trade settlement, reconciliation, and reporting for all trading activities.
    b. Ensure efficient and accurate processing of trades, margin requirements, and position management.
    c. Implement and maintain operational best practices to enhance efficiency and mitigate operational risk.
    d. Liaise with FCMs, prime brokers, exchanges, executing brokers, and other counterparties to manage relationships and optimize operational processes."
  • "2. Development Management
    a. Oversee the Development Team to enhance and maintain Gresham's investment infrastructure.
    b. Manage the integration and maintenance of key vendor systems (Geneva, Charles River, HedgeTek) and in-house applications and databases.
    c. Lead development initiatives to automate trading and backoffice processes, improve data analytics, and enhance risk management capabilities.
    d. Stay abreast of new technologies and market trends to drive innovation and competitive advantage."
  • "3. Risk Management
    a. Foster risk mindset on the team to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks.
    b. Develop and implement risk controls and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    c. Define key performance indicators to proactively address potential issues.
    d. Conduct thorough analysis of trading issues to derive maximal learning."
  • "4. Business Support

Anticipated Posting End Date:

Base Pay Range: $281,000/yr. - $319,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
