Job Summary

You must be a current UK student to apply to this position. This position is located off-campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK.

The Child Development Center of the Bluegrass at the University of Kentucky is hiring part time assistant teachers for our closing shift in our classrooms: M-F 4-5:30PM with the opportunity to be a sub for additional hours.

Substitutes are various hours based around availability and schedule.

Assistant teaching Duties include:

  • Provide small and large group instruction under Lead Teacher supervision
  • Assist in informal assessment, programming and data collection
  • Collect data and complete forms as directed by Lead Teacher
  • Assist in supervision of students in the classroom and on the playground
  • Assist in making materials for classroom use
  • Prepare and clean up after meals
  • Demonstrate good attendance
  • Obtain 15 clock hours of Training each year
This is a great opportunity for college students interested in gaining experience in early childhood education.
