Exciting Opportunity The Patient Access department is offering a position for a dedicated Patient Access Representative 2 at the UHealth Deerfield location.
The Patient Access Representative 2 (On-Site) is responsible for registering patients for clinical services, verifying insurance benefits, explaining relevant documents, and handling payments.
- Obtains, confirms, and enters demographic, financial, and clinical information for patient accounts.
- Contacts patients' families or physicians' offices for missing insurance information.
- Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility, with prompt notifications when necessary.
- Works closely with scheduling departments to identify add-on patients.
- Obtains authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals as needed.
- Collects funds from patients and communicates liabilities.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation.
- Follows University and departmental policies, safeguarding assets.
This overview of responsibilities may be expanded as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with accounting procedures and principles.
- Ability to complete tasks accurately with attention to detail.
- Capacity to handle confidential information securely.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Capability to work independently or in a team environment.
Relevant education, experience, or certifications will be considered.
