Job Summary
You will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing marketing strategy for enterprise teams, supporting key enterprise marketing strategy. This is an exciting position involving support for a mix of business segments, employer brand responsibilities and media/PR support for the enterprise.
The Marketing Director will be responsible for developing strategic marketing plans, aligning resources and project plans, and supporting media/PR efforts. This role will have one person reporting into them.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

  • Fosters strategic alignment with Integrated Business Services, Business Units and Employer brand teams to ensure marketing programs continue to provide on-going value to attain production and profitability goals and enable opportunistic growth.
  • Provides strategic and tactical direction for CNA marketing initiatives and campaigns, including leading enterprise-wide marketing initiatives with a focus on integrated business services and corporate brand. This includes development of strategy, development of marketing material and distribution in alignment with business goals.
  • Ongoing support for media and sponsorship opportunities in alignment with various internal partners, providing strategic direction for corporate presence.
  • Develops strategies that support enterprise-wide marketing opportunities, promoting the CNA brand and advancing corporate marketing strategy. End-to-end leadership on key enterprise-wide initiatives and events. Strategic oversight of sponsorship and branding opportunities (event and media) to best optimize and align with goals.
  • Enables marketing communications team in the delivery of marketing plans by facilitating a collaborative work environment and the identification and elevation of issues and opportunities to department leadership. Initiate quarterly area reviews to monitor progress, report out on results and recalibrate marketing plans and resources as needed.
  • Lead and direct the work activities with management responsibility for the performance and development of subordinate staff (1) in accordance with corporate strategic direction.

May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to effectively lead and execute marketing strategies and support multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Strong organizational and timely, proactive communication skills a must.
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing management strategy and tactics as well as knowledge of company, department and insurance industry procedures and practices.
  • Proven ability to develop messaging that furthers CNA's brand and positively positions CNA in the marketplace.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners.
  • Detail oriented with good analytical skills, and ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite as well as other business-related software.
  • Experience in media relations and insurance a plus.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with Master's preferred in marketing, or equivalent.
  • Typically a minimum of ten years of related work experience.
