POSITION DUTIES

Participates in\r
formal and on-the-job training programs related to wage laws and other\r
employment related laws under the Employment Standards Service.� Learns how to interpret complex technical\r
standards, policies and procedures necessary for enforcement of the Employment\r
Standards Service.\r

Under supervision, observes and\r
participates in routine site visits and site inspections and interventions in\r
private and public sector establishments.\r
\r
\r
\r
Develops, prepares, and submits\r
oral and/or written reports detailing investigation and field activity as\r
required and requested.\r

Performs other duties as\r
assigned by management.\r
\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r
Experience: Two years of general investigative work. \r
Notes: \r
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university for the required years of experience. \r
\r
2. Candidates may substitute thirty (30) college credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience not to exceed two (2) years of the required experience. \r
\r
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in the inspection, investigation, enforcement and compliance classifications inspection, investigation, enforcement and compliance specialty codes in the wage and hour investigation field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r

Experience in governing wages or employment practices in human resources or investigations or management, non-payment of wages, and/or pay equity.\r

Experience reviewing, researching, and applying standards and regulation in a codified environment.\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \r

Employees in this classification�may be required to have daily use of a motor vehicle while on official State business. Standard mileage allowance will be paid for use of a privately owned vehicle.\r
