Job Title: Merchandise Manager Background: Ignite Sports and Entertainment is becoming a regional player in the sports and entertainment industry, and we are looking to expand our portfolio with additional talent to support our growing organization. Ignite Sports and Entertainment's goal is to create family friendly entertainment and allow our employees a place to shine, while gaining experience in a fast-paced, fun industry. Job Summary: The Merchandise Manager will be tasked with overseeing and maintaining all day-to-day aspects of the team merchandise, inventory, online and physical team stores, creation of new products, as well as all online and game-driven auctions. This position will support all assets of Ignite Sports and Entertainment, as well as future endevours and possible one-off and/or off-site events during the course of employment. This position requires a candidate that will take a hands-on approach to getting the job done, as well as superior communication skills. Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Uphold, grow, and execute all aspects of sales, branding and marketing of team and event merchandise for Ignite Sports and Entertainment brands, increasing revenue, distribution, and customer engagement, aligned with our broader marketing and merchandising strategy
  • This position is expected to maintain at least a 50% Gross Margin on all merchandise items
  • Supervise and oversee all aspects of the team merchandise through online and in-person sales, in the office and souvenir stands at all times, including game nights and online store sales of merchandise and fulfillment
  • Game day attendance is required for this position
  • Responsible for general appearance of souvenir stands, hiring and managing support staff, and any other area or event where selling merchandise occurs
  • Manage planning, marketing, and sales of game worn and other items through our partnership with , including campaign creation, scheduling, and financial tracking, as well as fulfilment
  • Track and prepare inventory and sales reports to be delivered to leadership for business reporting
  • Pull work orders daily for online sales and finalize all transactions, as well as fulfilling, packing, and shipping of all ordered items
  • Generate new ideas for products and designs for team and branded merchandise
  • Work with the communications team grow Ignite Sports and Entertainment's merchandising presence on all relevant social media platforms and encourage audience engagement, along with direct email and telecommunications platforms, as well as text blasts to customers and fans
  • Engage with local community and business groups to seek out, promote and facilitate sales
  • Regularly monitor and respond to any messages, inquiries, or comments that need attention through merchandising email accounts with professionalism and positivity
  • Attend and supervise in-person events, when and where needed, and create live content to drive engagement, leveraging social media
  • Set up and break down events, interact with the public, work across departments, and communicate effectively with all parties involved in the planning and execution process
  • Contribute to all company aspects on an "as needed" basis
Requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, superb communication skills, and time management skills are vital to succes in this role
  • Organizational, multitasking, and analytical skills are a necessity
  • A well-developed hands-on approach, organizational, and follow-through skills are critical to day-to-day and long term success
  • Innovative, with the ability to think on one's feet both creatively and critically to achieve goals
  • Proven work experience in sales and events or similar role is a plus
  • Deliver creative content and products that resonates with the target audience
  • Knowledge of online sales and marketing strategies, as well as marketing channels is beneficial
  • Ability to gasp future trends and act proactively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is a plus
  • Experience with online retail platforms is very valuable
  • Candidate must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Required to be able to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Applicant has to stand, walk, talk, listen, use hands, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and sit on occasions to execute the tasks of this position
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, event planning, or relevant field is a positive but not required
  • Must maintain a flexible schedule as attendance on nights and weekends, and possibly holidays, based on the game schedule and events, is required
