Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation Physical/Electrical design for utilities/substations
  • Perform engineering studies, calculations, and Quality Control reviews on substation physical design projects
  • Act as the technical leader on projects with minimal guidance
  • Generate and scrutinize bill of materials for substation physical projects
  • Develop and evaluate proposals, as well as scopes of work for smaller substation physical projects
  • Engage in client interaction, including site visits, alongside a senior, project, or lead project engineer
  • Possess exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and clients to achieve project objectives
  • Cultivate leadership skills in preparation for future team roles

Essential Qualifications:

  • Four or more years of experience in Substation physical design
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field
  • Experience with grounding studies/lightning protection and lighting studies

Desired Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (P.E) license
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Proficiency in protection and control design, bus calculation, and WinIGS or CDEGS
