GENERAL SUMMARY:

Supervises, directs, and coordinates the activities of the technical, nursing, ancillary personnel, and students assigned to the Radiology Interventional division. Provides oversight to all services and insures sterile environment is adhered to in the OR like procedural rooms, and Pre and Post Op recover room. Involved in the coordination of care with other departments for the patients, such as OR, Anesthesia, Nursing units, etc. May provide supervisory duties for the nursing personnel when RN Supervisor is unavailable. May perform technical duties within the division as necessary.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs normal supervisor duties such as:
  • In collaboration with the Director/Division Head, plans and implements management strategies, goals and objectives appropriate to the division operations, and, coordination of physicians activity in IR Interviews, hires, discharge, or make authoritative recommendations with regard to the hiring or discharging of subordinate employees
  • Plans work schedules and assigns work based on the availability of personnel, workload, and employee competency
  • Evaluates employee performance, recommends pay increases, handles disputes, and takes disciplinary action as requires
  • Keeps records, logs, etc. and prepares reports and budgets for leadership use
  • Resolves problems and customer complaints regarding divisional services or activities
  • Represents the division(s) at department meetings as well as at interdepartmental meetings
  • Responsible for payroll information for division Insures that all necessary supplies are ordered and stocked
  • Insures that safety regulations, and radiation protection where appropriate, are observed and that policies are adhered to.
  • Insures compliance with all regulatory agency standards
  • Maintains quality control and prescribed standards of technological aspects of the Radiologic procedures performed in the division.
  • Maintains policies and procedures for the division Maintains the patient schedules and adjusts them as appropriate for better service EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
  • Must be registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or equivalent accrediting agency
  • Advanced registry in Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI); VascularInterventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV) required
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a technologic role required
  • Experience in leadership/management
  • Must maintain required hours of continued medical education
  • Must maintain Healthcare Provider certification (BCLS)
  • Bachelor Degree or greater preferred CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
  • Must be registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or equivalent accrediting agency
  • Advanced registry in Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI); Vascular
  • Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV) required
