Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision and adhering to established protocols, the technologist will perform diagnostic imaging procedures using advanced equipment such as CT, MRI, and Interventional Radiology tools. Key responsibilities include:

  • Confirming patient identity and reviewing medical records to ensure the appropriateness of procedures.
  • Conducting patient interviews to gather and verify medical histories, assessing any potential risk factors.
  • Clearly explaining procedures to patients, including potential side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives.
  • Setting up imaging equipment and capturing necessary images as per established guidelines.
  • Reviewing images, documenting any deviations from standard protocols, and communicating findings to the radiologist.
  • Responding to medical emergencies as necessary.
  • Providing post-procedure care instructions as directed by physicians.
  • Engaging in quality improvement initiatives within the radiology department, focusing on patient care and satisfaction.
  • Offering educational support to residents, student technologists, and new staff members.
  • Being available for on-call duties as required by the department.
  • Performing Radiologic Technologist duties when necessary.
Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (RT) or Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CV).
  • Completion of American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by the end of the orientation period.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) within 6 months of hire for adult settings or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (PALS) within 1 year for cardiology settings.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology.
  • Preferred experience in Vascular procedures and proficiency with C-arm equipment.
