Core Responsibilities

The Bryn Mawr School has an immediate opening for a dynamic, detail-oriented advancement professional to support its Advancement team. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, team player with prior fundraising experience and the ability to make personal solicitations. This is a full-time, twelve-month position that reports to the Associate Director of Advancement and closely collaborates with the entire Advancement team.


The Director of The Fund for Bryn Mawr is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive, year-round fundraising plan for The Fund for Bryn Mawr. The fundraising plan includes developing goals, strategies, and programming to build and engage Bryn Mawr's donor and prospect base.


The Director of The Fund for Bryn Mawr identifies, solicits, cultivates, and stewards meaningful relationships with established and potential donors, securing annual contributions with a specific emphasis on building the pipeline for leadership giving and specialized gift efforts.

The Director of The Fund for Bryn Mawr organizes and manages volunteer committees including but not limited to:

The Senior Gift Committee Chair/Volunteers and The Fund for Bryn Mawr Chair/Volunteers.

This role also works closely with The Director of Alumnae Engagement on reunion giving and reunion committees.

Major Duties and Responsibilities


• Create and manage a multidimensional, segmented appeal schedule that utilizes a variety of mediums (e.g., direct mail, electronic, phone, and face-to-face solicitations) to communicate with potential and current donors.

• Establish strategic dollar, participation, qualitative and quantitative goals for The Fund for Bryn Mawr in order to achieve annual giving goals. This includes but is not limited to managing, tracking, and analyzing donor renewal, acquisition and attrition, with an emphasis on donor performance and new strategies to maximize revenue.

• Collaborate with the Director of Advancement Communications to produce copy for all
solicitations and gift acknowledgments, with a focus on donor-centered fundraising and the impact of gift storytelling.


• Collaborate with the Director of Advancement Communications to plan and execute successful Giving Day campaigns, including but not limited to Daisy Day (Annual Day of Giving) and Giving Tuesday.

• Collaborate with the Director of Advancement Communications and the Communications team to utilize Give Campus to execute successful fundraising campaigns.

• In partnership with The Director of Alumnae Engagement, orchestrate and oversee a
collaborative and engaging Reunion Giving program.

• Explore Affinity Giving programs as a way to increase giving across constituency groups.

• Work collaboratively with the Advancement Services Team to produce weekly fundraising reports and Raiser's Edge generated reports to ensure accurate gift entry, acknowledgment, and recognition of annual contributions.

• Build relationships with managed prospects, and conduct at least 50 personal visits per year while moving prospects through the donor life cycle.

• Utilize Raiser's Edge to track visits, produce contact notes, conduct appropriate constituent follow-up, and generate fundraising progress reports.

• Provide regular annual giving program updates for the Advancement Committee, Board of Trustees, Business Office, and Senior Leadership team.

• Collaborate with the Advancement and Special Events Coordinator to support the planning and execution of stewardship, cultivation, and fundraising events.

• Coordinate with Parent and Alumnae Directors to ensure alignment between annual giving goals and parent and alumnae engagement programming.

• Manage the annual giving budget.

• Recruit and manage volunteers across constituency groups.

• Other duties as assigned.

Recommended Employment Qualifications:


• 3-5 years of experience directing or managing an annual fund with proven success in meeting fundraising goals.

• 4-year college degree.

• Self-starter.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Raiser's Edge experience, preferred.

• Give Campus experience, preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Suite.


• Familiarity with and endorsement of the School's mission, culture, and values; interest in participating in the life of the school.

• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.

• Self-motivation, flexibility, problem-solving, and commitment to innovation.
