Who you are:
You are an experienced calm, level-headed, logical and intelligent leader of construction professionals. You coordinate, guide, mentor and quality control your team to the finish line. Because you exude excellence in these leadership skills, you are confident in the data you collect from your team and know the way you interpret that data will guide ownership into sound business decisions. You know your leadership determines the success or failures of your team. You have been described as someone who takes extreme ownership/accountability for your team, taking great pleasure in your subordinates success.

Duties:
As a Project Director, you are responsible for the successful conclusion of all aspects of the construction process. You will oversee project management teams to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget, to a high standard.
  • Oversee the successful execution of multiple commercial construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, maximizing profitability and quality.
  • Provide strategic leadership to project managers and the construction team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Review and approve project plans, including scope, timelines, cost estimates, and construction methods.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms and clear expectations.
  • Implement and enforce rigorous safety standards and protocols to maintain a safe job site.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the companys interest while maintaining a good relationship with the client.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to senior management and clients through regular updates and presentations.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and permits.

  • Leverage industry knowledge to provide strategic insights and recommendations for business development.
  • Coordinate with the human resources department to staff projects adequately, including hiring and training new employees.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance construction processes and increase customer satisfaction.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Advocate for staff career development and growth
  • Influence, understand and champion company, departmental, and individual staff goals
  • Identify personnel issues and provide solutions
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in business administration
  • At least 20 years of relevant construction management experience
  • At least 10 years as a direct supervisor
  • At least 5 years of experience working directly inside a project management information system (PMIS), Procore highly preferred
