Key Responsibilities

The R&D Specialist II is a highly motivated individual with a problem-solving approach and a focus on customers, assisting the workstream leader in conducting laboratory work for new product development, raw material adjustments, product testing, and root cause analysis. S/He engages with the technical team when necessary.

The R&D Specialist II carries out each essential task safely, satisfactorily, and promptly.


  • Understand the purpose of formulation components and recalibrate to address basic customer (internal/external) issues with minimal supervision
  • Manage assigned LWR/projects, including scheduling and planning, on a weekly basis
  • Offer data-driven insights to facilitate troubleshooting and resolution of problems in manufacturing, application, and formulation
  • Summarize test data through spreadsheets, reports, and presentations; make conclusions
  • Determine the next steps based on completed tests and outcomes
  • Update on-going projects and raise alerts; predict and prevent delays
  • Act as a representative for R&D and collaborate effectively with various teams including quality control and pilot plants
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace
  • Provide direct assistance to sales, marketing, and supply chain activities through reports, presentations, and customer engagement
Job Requirements


  • 4-year degree in a scientific field, preferably chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering
  • Some experience in chemistry or the coatings industry is preferred, but relevant academic background can be considered
  • Solid knowledge in chemistry/polymers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed
Rewards & Benefits

The base salary range for this role is between $60,000 and $68,000. This serves as a reference for setting wages. The final salary may vary. This range is subject to adjustments in the future.
