Duties


The Gender Issues Advisor (GIA) will be the primary IC DEIA resource for advancing the IC's commitment to creating a work environment free from discrimination and harassment based on sex, including gender identity, transgender status, gender expression, and perceived gender.


The GIA will work across IC DEIA's strategic objectives of data, partnerships, accessibility, and training and advise Chief, IC DEIA on questions, processes, and policy in the workplace that impact transgender, nonbinary, and gender expansive employees.


The GIA will also be a primary resource for assisting supervisors and civilian employees in navigating gender affirmation process-related workplace issues and personnel actions.


Serve as a diversity consultant to ODNI leadership and provide advice on the development, implementation, and management of complex diversity programs and activities aimed at increasing diversity and EEO compliance within the ODNI and/or across the Intelligence Community (IC).


Plan, manage, and coordinate strategic and tactical projects, plan and execute action taskings associated with assigned projects, and provide project status and reporting.


Serve as a liaison between ODNI diversity and ODNI and/or IC EEO/diversity organization leadership; listen to the needs of the organizations, including ODNI directorates as appropriate, and provide counsel and guidance that enables them to tailor diversity programs, methods, and procedures to ensure they fully meet client needs and their overall diversity objectives and/or ODNI's diversity needs.


Provide leadership to, and serve as an IC DEIA liaison to, advisory groups across the IC, such as the IC Affinity Groups and Diversity Councils, the Intelligence Community Diversity Advisory Board (DAB), and other diversity advisory groups or provide leadership to, and serve as ODNI liaison to advisory groups within the ODNI.

    Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements:
Demonstrated ability in furthering inclusivity across the Intelligence Community (IC) and in ODNI.

Demonstrated awareness of transition-related matters, or issues, in the workplace.

Demonstrated knowledge of IC/ODNI privacy protection policies and procedures.

Demonstrated knowledge of IC/ODNI official personnel records procedures.

Demonstrated ability to be creative, open minded, and think outside of the box.


Demonstrated ability to work effectively across the ODNI and/or the IC with cross-IC diversity teams; build and sustain professional relationships and exert influence effectively at all levels within and across organizations; demonstrated ability to lead ODNI team initiatives and/or cross-IC team initiatives and encourage information sharing.


Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team or collaborative environment, mentor junior colleagues, and utilize strong organizational and interpersonal problem solving skills.


Demonstrated ability to assess and manage taskings, collaborate on goal setting, and support personal and professional development of all levels of personnel.


The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to work with individuals of all grades and ranks, and be able to provide policy-based guidance, as well as function independently with minimal guidance.

The selectee should be organized, capable of juggling multiple priorities and goals.

At least three to five years of progressively responsible professional Equal Employment Opportunity or Diversity experience.

Education

Bachelors Degree.

Salary Determination:

A current Federal Government employee, selected for a detail, will be assigned to the position at their current grade and salary.
