Global Medical Insights Analyst (Director) - Metrics and Dashboards

Job Summary:

The Global Medical insights team is evolving to ensure that our medical strategy is developed using a 360-degree insights perspective by ensuring the voice of our customer, our patient, and the wider external environment is amplified.

To ensure the successful delivery of our global medical strategy, Global Medical Insights needs to partner closely with key markets and our cross functional partners (e.g. Commercial Insights, Market research, Patient Engagement, VEO, clinical) to ensure we drive insights to shape outcomes and deliver impact across General Medicine, Oncology, Speciality, and Vaccine Therapeutic Areas (TAs).

The Global Medical Insights Analyst - Metrics and Dashboards is a director-level, single contributor role responsible for the development, analysis, and communication of key metrics and insights to support strategic decision-making within Global Medical Affairs. This role will collaborate with various internal stakeholders to create and maintain insights and dashboards that provide actionable insights, with measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate as a business partner to TA leadership to enable and drive Global Medical decisions and strategies and for key input into pipeline/development workstreams.
  • Build strong partnerships with cross functional teams (e.g. Commercial Insights, Market research, Patient Engagement, VEO, clinical) for the opportunity to develop insights, joining multiple data sources to craft one source of truth for metrics.
  • Design, develop, and manage advanced analytics dashboards that are aligned across global, regional and LOC to monitor and visualize impact for Global Medical Affairs.
  • Analyse complex datasets to extract insights and identify trends that inform strategic initiatives and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams at global, regional and LOC level to ensure that relevant data sources are integrated into dashboard reports.
  • Provide regular reports and presentations to senior leadership, highlighting key insights and recommendations derived from data analysis.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Medical Affairs function and the broader pharmaceutical landscape to ensure that metrics are aligned with industry best practices and organizational goals.
  • Ensure pull through of robust insights into sound forecasts in commercial that contribute to stage gating and investment planning decisions; understand and apply forecasting content and implications to their application in the execution of brand plans.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on metrics and data analysis, providing guidance and support to the Global Medical Affairs team.
  • Contribute to a positive culture of learning and continuous improvement by developing/refining processes to achieve better business outcomes. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced data reporting capabilities.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the data governance and compliance requirements relevant to medical affairs activities.
  • Lead projects to enhance the functionality and impact of medical affairs metrics and dashboards.


Why You?

Basic Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Degree (MA/MS/PhD) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or applied quantitative sciences discipline (e.g. Life Sciences, Applied Science, Analytics, Market Research, Healthcare Consulting).
  • Director level experience in analytics or business intelligence, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Proficiency with analytics tools and software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL, R, Python).
  • Proven track record of developing metrics and dashboards that drive business decisions.
  • Experience working in qualitative and quantitative analysis related fields applying analytics and insights for business decisions (research, analytics, forecasting, etc.)
  • Experience with data governance and compliance within a regulated environment.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Experience in a global role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Experience in R&D, Medical Affairs, Healthcare consulting and customer facing roles preferred.
  • Experience in developing metrics for measuring impact and shaping strategy within the healthcare industry.
  • PhD or MSc or experience using AI/ML/data science with an understanding of which models are suitable for a given use case e.g. experience in designing and implementing machine learning algorithms (Supervised, Unsupervised, and Reinforcement Algorithms); advanced experience in LLM, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Deep Learning, Data Analytics, Data Modelling, and enterprise-level use cases using Generative AI such as ChatGPT.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Has the ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Any cybersecurity expertise is also a bonus.
