ROLE SUMMARY

The primary responsibility for this role is strategic leadership on the US Medical Rare Hematology/Hemophilia team to deliver the Medical operating plan in coordination with Global Medical Affairs deliverables across the therapeutic area. The Senior Medical Director brings leadership skills, technical expertise and an in-depth understanding of medicine development and lifecycle to bear on all US Medical/Hemophilia-related activities. Coordinating with Global Medical Affairs and cross-functional colleagues, this individual provides Medical leadership to support successful product development, medical launch and product commercialization, while putting the patient first within the spectrum of the Pfizer Core Values and Behaviors.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads the development and execution of the rare hemophilia medical affairs operating plan
Provides Medical leadership as appropriate on cross-functional teams supporting clinical and commercial development plans
Establishes new and growing existing critical external relationships with US thought leaders and professional societies in the Hemophilia TA
Represents US Medical Affairs on Hemophilia-related cross-functional teams
Develops and execute US medical strategies for phase IV research including RWE and data generation plans
Leads data generation/analyses and ensure the medical and scientific accuracy of manuscripts and abstracts/posters
Ensures seamless and coordinated partnership with Hemophilia Field Medical leadership to achieve integration of insights into strategy development and execution
Ensures timely and appropriate management of the US Hemophilia Medical budget including project spend
Provides medical input on US labeling and regulatory interactions
Leads and executes successful Medical advisory boards, congress-related symposia and congress planning
As appropriate, participates in Medical Subcommittee (MSC) consisting of cross-functional medical colleagues including outcomes research
Develops and maintains HCP engagement plans for HQ medical affairs
As appropriate, provides Medical leadership in US Commercial initiatives in support of the Hemophilia portfolio including brand positioning, promotional materials, and digital projects
Serves as the voice of US Medical and ensures US Hemophilia needs are considered and represented in Global Medical strategies
Collaborates as appropriate with US external partners to further scientific insights and data generation
Mentors and coaches other colleagues, as appropriate
Builds trust among team members and broader stakeholders by setting a highly visible example of medical integrity and excellence

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
MD/DO professional degree required
5+ years of relevant work experience
Experience in Medical Affairs with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership preferred
Deep understanding of HCP informational needs and what is required to support these needs
Extensive knowledge of patterns of medical practice and healthcare delivery and current and evolving landscape will be required
Candidate will need to demonstrate credibility and presence based on their knowledge of all aspects of Medical Affairs
Advanced influencing skills to enable productive collaboration and alignment between business units
Highly motivated with demonstrated track record of high performance and producing outstanding results
Proficiency in building and managing relationships with stakeholders, including Senior Leaders, ensuring appropriate stakeholders are included in deliberations and decision-making
Proven ability to facilitate open discussion and debate among key stakeholders and build internal and external relationships through partnering, anticipating needs, fulfilling expectations
An ability to lead and manage in a matrixed structure and in a collaborative team environment
Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically
Demonstrated record of sound judgment and intelligent decision-making
Fluency in written and spoken English required, with excellent communication skills

This is a hybrid in-office role requiring 2-3 days on-site per week

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $253,800.00 to $423, In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
