The incumbent in this position serves as a Training Specialist (Physical Security Curriculum Manager) at the CDSE in Linthicum, MD.
The incumbent, utilizing their subject matter knowledge, reviews and assist in the interpretation of new and existing security related policy, procedures, and regulations, and analyzes their impact on developing, implementing, and maintaining CDSE curricula tailored for Department of Defense (DOD) security professionals, the DCSA, other federal agencies, and sponsored foreign governments.
The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating physical security related training and education programs, as well as managing enterprise-wide training and education curriculum for CDSE's targeted student audience.
Incumbent serves as CDSE's chief authority and spokesperson for ensuring CDSE's Physical security content area and security specialty training and education is relevant, accurate, and current.
The incumbent, utilizing their subject matter knowledge, reviews and assist in the interpretation of new and existing Physical security related policy, procedures and regulations and based on their security knowledge, the incumbent provides recommendations for new development, and/or maintenance of existing security training programs, products, and services.
In addition, incumbents serve as curriculum and principle subject matter experts performing and directing special projects in the physical security discipline and inspections/security countermeasures in the following areas: management, administration, policy and procedures, and reciprocity between national level agencies.
Furthermore, the incumbent is responsible for evaluating the CDSE Physical Security training and education curriculum against defined security skill standards and current as well as evolving security requirements.
Specifically, incumbents facilitate and respond to job task and training and education needs analyses and work as an authoritative consultant to identify, develop, deliver, and evaluate new and innovative security training and education programs, products, and services.
Required Certifications:
Incumbent must successfully attain and maintain the Basic Level Certification for the CDSE's Instructor Certification Program within 24 months of hire date.
Incumbent must successfully attain and maintain the DoD Security Professional Education Development Program (SPeD), Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC), within 24 months of hire date.
If assigned as an Industry Security, Physical Security, or Special Access Programs Subject Matter consultant, the incumbent must successfully attain and maintain the applicable specialty certification (Industrial Security Oversight Certification (ISOC), Physical Security Certification or Special Program Security (SPC) Certification (SPSC) within 24 months of hire.
