Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior EDI Specialist to join our team at Labcorp Careers. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing expert support for the Sales organization, helping to obtain new business and retain current customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise between clients and internal/external IT resources for EDI workflow implementation and support.
  • Build and cultivate strong working relationships with clients to gain their support and solidify their continued business.
  • Collaborate with various functional groups, including sales, lab operations, senior leadership, and third-party vendors, to provide timely client issue resolutions.
  • Build strategic partnerships with the sales team to ensure accurate addressing of client needs, building trust, and delivering exceptional results.
  • Use EMR knowledge to overcome implementation challenges and ensure a smooth rollout.
  • Perform analysis of client ordering patterns to offer electronic recommendations for improved efficiencies and production levels.
  • Communicate between clients, internal sales/IT, and third-party vendors to ensure successful resolutions.
  • Provide initial and ongoing training for various EMR systems to ensure proper utilization and client satisfaction.
  • Install and maintain PC hardware to ensure business continuity and enhance lab operations efficiency.
  • Perform triage and troubleshooting for client EDI issues to ensure expedited resolutions.
  • Provide recommendations based on expertise and escalate to other functional areas when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and complete daily logs for client visits and travel/expense reporting.
  • Schedule daily appointments based on client prioritization and proximity.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, HIM, or a healthcare-related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in HIM or Information Technology preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in IT or a healthcare-related field.
  • Prior experience in a laboratory environment strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office/365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams).
  • Experience working with different EMR vendors and/or Labs on connectivity projects.
  • Ability to influence decision-makers in various departments and levels of leadership.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under minimal supervision.
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work variable hours and schedules.
